Frontend Web Developer

About this position:

The Front-End Website Developer will work closely with internal management as well as clients to create/convert/modify websites that adhere to best practices and have a great visual appeal. Most websites will be in WordPress (HTML, CSS, JS, PHP and sometimes jQuery) or static (HTML, CSS, JS). A few websites will be in Wix or a variety of other CMS systems and may require some R&D to make changes to the website.

A typical day will be started with responding to emails and developing a plan for the day – prioritizing work and documenting where you stand on open projects. Some work may be done with other developers, however most work will be independent.

An ideal candidate would have experience working in a web development agency setting, however this is not required. It is expected that a candidate will know how to independently use a variety of testing tools to validate the quality of their work and identify areas to improve. Testing experience should include front end accessibility, SEO, front end page speed responsiveness, and best practices. The candidate should have experience working with ecommerce systems such as WooCommerce or Shopify.

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years working in a front-end website development role, using technologies noted above.
  • Candidate must be able to: technically describe problems and opportunities, suggest a method to resolve technical problems or opportunities, and clearly document change requests.
  • Must be able to document time effectively while working on client projects to accrue billable hours.

Hosting, Email, FTP configuration experience would be a bonus, but not required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
