Pressure Regulator
Pressure regulators are a form of valve that works to cut off the flow of liquid or air at a specific pressure. These regulators are used in a number of different applications and industries in order to allow high pressure fluid tanks and lines to have their pressure reduced in a safe manner. Pressure regulators are an important part of any application where high pressure gasses or fluids are in play. They ensure that the pressure does not build up to an unsafe level which could result in numerous injuries and damage to manufacturing equipment. These products are found in a vast range of applications because they can be used anywhere there are high pressure gasses and fluids present.

Types of Pressure Regulators
A pressure regulator can be sorted in two separate categories, single stage regulators or double stage regulators. Both of these regulators operate with the same basic operation. Pressure regulators work to match the flow of the gas or fluid to the demand for the gas or fluid. So if the demand for the high-pressure fluid decreases, the pressure regulator must decrease the pressure in order to match the demand. All pressure regulators consist of three basic elements, the restricting element, the loading element, and the measuring element. The restricting element is in place to do exactly that, restrict the flow of the substance. While the loading element functions in a way that it applies the needed force on the restricting element in order for the restricting element to actually work. Finally, the measuring element is in place in order to determine whether or not the inlet flow matches the outlet flow. Single stage regulators and double stage regulators are both ideal choices for a number of applications, but they each offer advantages for certain applications. Single stage pressure regulators are often used with cylinders and pipelines, while double stage regulators are often used with manifolds and also cylinders.
Things to Consider When Choosing a Pressure Regulator
In order to figure out whether you require a single stage regulator or a double stage regulator, consult with a trusted pressure regulator manufacturer who has the experience to listen to your application and needs in order to suggest the best possible style of the pressure regulator.
