Founded in Ohio in 1987, Dura-Belt began as a company that offered urethane belts to installers, distributors, and OEMs. Jim Hammond, a physicist from Jet Propulsion Labs, purchased the company in 1991 with the goal of implementing new technology to the belting industry. This included a quality control system that was a forerunner of ISO 9000. The result of Hammond’s vision was a Super-Strong welding process as well as conveyor belt materials that were more durable than any before. Our company has continued in that vein, consistently offering new belting technology and products. Our vision for the future has kept Dura-belt at the forefront of the belting industry.
What started as a small, low-tech belting provider is now a company with two state-of-the-art plants in Hilliard, Ohio, with a total of 35,000 square feet. With three shifts always running, the company has the ability to manufacture 80,000 round belt a day. Our belts are known for their durability and long working life across the globe as they are relied on in a number of applications including packaged foods, hardware, household products, office supplies, medical supplies, cosmetics, automotive parts, electronics and many more.Dura-Belt’s dedication to the belting industry can also be seen in the fact that we are a member in many Material Handling associations including the Material Handling Equipment Distributors Association, the Material Handling Institute of America, and the National Industrial Belting Association.
